What is Cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy is the use of sub-zero temperatures to promote physical and mental well-being by stimulating the body’s own ability to renew, recover and revive.
How Cryotherapy Works
Cryotherapy works by activating the body’s “fight or flight” response. When the body is introduced to the freezing temperatures of Cryotherapy, it increases a chemical in the brain and body called Norepinephrine or Noradrenalin. This chemical functions as a neurotransmitter which is responsible for directing the body to take action. This action increases blood flow to the skeletal muscles, reduces inflammation, helps relieve migraines, increases alertness, vigilance, memory, and focus.
